Known as "Mammut", this 5/8" width carbon steel razor has a round point and a handle that is the epitome of rare. The handle is made from ~40,000-year-old mammoth (mammuthus primigenius-siberia) tusks. Ever seen museum scaled models of a mammoth's 10' and 200 lbs+ tusks? Each piece on the razor is sealed and laminated, but nonetheless retains gobs of natural character. Beyond this very special handle, this razor's shave is much the same as the "Prima Klang" models. I do find it interesting that Dovo chose to use the superior modern hex bolt pinning upon only this $$$ model. As to the blade...this extra full hollow ground razor is sometimes referred to as a 'singing' razor as it emits a 'note' when plucked with a finger. As an experienced shaver, I've come to prefer the extremely hollow grinds such as this one. I get the closest, most comfortable shaves from them because they can reallly trace those nooks and crannies. They're just fantastic at going against the grain on the sensitive spots, too. I'd not recommend this as a first razor, but if you've developed some skill with a straight and want to know how close you can get there's a good chance this will get you there.
