VP Leonhardy RasierSeife Shaving Soap (100g)
A rock-hard stearic acid based handmade German soap, specified as ideal for sensitive skin. In seeking their Deutschland "OEM" soap supplier, VP Leonhardy wanted a 7.0 pH first and formost (feeling true pH balance nearly nonexistent in the EU-produced shaving world), and believed that pH neutrality and avoiding specific ingredients guaranteed no offense to even the most sensitive of skin types. The primary objective of this particular soap is to never cause burn or irritation, no matter the user. Its second aim is to make loads of stable lather. Both it does; in fact for truly hard soaps this is the most stable offering we have.
Not necessarily a compliment, but this stuff's certainly unique; I've not felt any soap's lather seem more "inert", if that makes any sense. My preferred countryman, Zartgefühl's 'Ziegen Bart', comparatively produces lather with gobs of organic charm, infinitely-more perceived interaction within you (in fact that is the ZB's great asset), while this stuff's more like a computer designed a small batch hard soap. It rides upon you rather like Trumpers' creams, but without any nasties and feeling more moist, even if its wet sensation lacks the perceived skin penetration. A curious concoction. Like a small-batch sterile soap, reasonably wet, quite easily lathered, and stable (Zartgefühl sorely lacks that one).
You're not buying water, which is always nice; the $20/100 grams worth will yield many months of daily shaving were we so foolish in life to have merely one lather fuel at our disposal. Try a sample; we'll chisel chunks off with a dedicated chisel and form them to succumb to the plastic reservoirs with the aid of wax paper.
Nothing special for odor, a faint disingenuous herbal/minty essence somewhere.
